Egrets

There’s something peaceful and ethereal about Egrets. Even when they take flight as my kayak approaches, they seem to do so quietly….and almost calmly. Their calm and peace instills patience in me and of all the birds I’ve photographed, I find that I am most patient with them, easily drifting for long periods of time, snapping hundreds of pictures and back-paddling repeatedly to ensure a respectful distance.
